Mabon – Step Through the Portal

Mabon Draw Imperial Dragon Oracle and Draconis Tarot Judgement

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.

If this sounds too mystical, refer again to the body. Every significant vital sign- body temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption, hormone level, brain activity, and so on- alters the moment you decide to do anything… decisions are signals telling your body, mind, and environment to move in a certain direction.”
― Deepak Chopra

This morning, I lit a Mabon candle on my altar and asked for guidance. I pulled one card for the week ahead from the Imperial Dragon Oracle and one card for the day ahead from the Tarot Draconis. Both cards turned out to be Judgement (or Aeon) – indicating a highly auspicious time for making a final decision about which spiritual path to take this equinox.

I know what it feels like to sit on the fence out of fear of missing out on something better by virtue of making an irreversible choice. I know the temptation of wanting of cherry picking… The truth is, unless we choose a path, we miss out on everything that we could potentially be learning about the Craft. The Craft without a Path is like an instrument without a musical score. You can still play it but it will be hit and miss.

Choosing a path means choosing a score that you will have to stick to for a while. Once you have mastered it, you can begin improvising because you have an understanding of the harmonies. There is a template and a blueprint. Having been obedient and disciplined, ultimately you find that you have more freedom.

I choose the Middle Path, the Faery Path, where Dragons teach those who retain a childlike spirit. I surrender to the path that chose me, knowing that the process of making a choice is an illusion. I fulfill my destiny with a sense of triumph.
