Are You A Witch? Plus Your Chance To Win The Archangel Tarot Deck

The High Priestess Archangel Power Tarot

“To me, a witch is a woman that is capable of letting her intuition take hold of her actions, that communes with her environment, that isn’t afraid of facing challenges.”
― Paulo Coelho

A woman who lets ‘her intuition take hold of her actions’ is a woman at odds with patriarchy and modern society. She does not buy all the ‘stuff’ that media tells her to buy because she has no need to ‘fit in.’ She does not allow ads to dictate which of her perceived ‘flaws’ are socially unacceptable and need covering up. She does not buy into the hype, nor the fearmongering.

She understands that the so-called ‘news’ is rich people paying middle-class people to tell poor people what to be afraid of and what to believe in.

She supports other women and teaches her daughters that they are divine. She flows with the seasons and cycles of the moon and her Moontime is sacred – not disgusting as patriarchy would have us believe. She learns from the weather and the plants and animals around her, not just from books.

She keeps her word because she knows that words that are not kept chip away at your essence and makes your spellcraft void of power.

She is a healer because her intuition allows her to sense healing energy and her strong will allows her to direct it.

She values solitude and silence for to her, time in meditation means deep communion with the All. She is solitary but never alone.

Today’s draw is from the Archangel Power Tarot by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. This is my favourite out of the three Angel Tarot decks produced by DV so far.

I have a spare to give away so comment below to enter. The winner will be randomly chosen from among the comments and advertised in my newsletter the Halloween weekend. When you sign up for the newsletter you also get two FREE Tarot eBooks!

Love and Blessings,

Anyone who repects the laws of nature above the laws of man is viewed with suspicion and intolerance for being “different”.

  10. missugly82 · October 20, 2014

Empowering women again I see 🙂 This is why I follow you. You aren’t just a tarot reader or witch or a healer but a Goddess standing in her own true power. ❤ I personally cannot stand Doreen Vitrue so please count me out of the competition. I just wanted to comment haha. Xx

  11. mplanglinais · October 20, 2014

I’ve always hesitated to call myself a “witch” but . . . If I’m being honest with myself (and I should be), I’m moving in that direction.

    • Lisa Frideborg Lloyd · October 20, 2014

It’s not strange that we hesitate when society has maligned powerful women for so long…

  12. pureblessedtarot · October 20, 2014

I’m too busy doing groovy stuff to be at odds with Patriarchy… though Patriarchy is often at odds with me! lol 😉

  13. kimbalie · October 20, 2014

I love this post! It resonates with me & it uplifts me to see it expressed so eloquently by others. (I don’t want to be entered into the draw, however. I’m saving my best self for that other delicious tarot you showed me :))

    • Lisa Frideborg Lloyd · October 20, 2014

Thanks. Now which Tarot might that be? I use and share so many… 😀

      • frances · October 21, 2014

❤ Prisma Visions ❤ (Tho' naturally using many creates a wonderful tapestry of insights :))

  16. Colubrina Laticauda · October 20, 2014

I think that a witch is a person who knows how to ride the tide of power (energy) and do not be overwhelmed by events, but moves between them as if they were dancing.

    • Lisa Frideborg Lloyd · October 20, 2014

Nicely put, Colubrina. Even witches have a learning curve though… and we get pulled under at times but we always come back – stronger and wiser.

  17. miafortuna · October 21, 2014

I am a witch. A curandera. A mermaid. A shaman. I am a woman who believes in her powers.
I am a true believer in empowering other women and I love when I meet other women who do the same. It’s a blessing.

I really enjoy yor FB page by the way.

    Karen aka Mia Fortuna 💜🔮

    • Lisa Frideborg Lloyd · October 21, 2014

Wonderful! It is indeed a blessing to establish a sisterhood of strong, empowered women who support each other!

  18. chloetarot · October 21, 2014

Beautiful post, again, Lisa! And I laughed at your description of the news – so on point 😀 Have signed up to your newsletter, too, will look forward to that popping into my inbox 😉

  19. Lisa Frideborg Lloyd · October 21, 2014

Thanks Chloe! I saw that thing about the news somewhere… someone had posted a picture of that sentence in graffiti on tumblr I believe. Best description of the news ever. I paraphrased it slightly. Thanks for subscribing to my newsletter 🙂 x

  20. Carol · October 21, 2014

What a great Blog . . .I’ve been learning little by little by. . .moment by moment I’m interpreting the energy within myself and though crystals, nature and also by divination like tarot. I’ve recently found your blog on the major arcana, and what a great tool to learn and understand the cards. Thank you for sharing your passion with everyone. Much love n giggles.

  21. Dalanda · October 25, 2014

Well, looks like I must be a witch then! xD

Fantastic that you raised the point of media influence/indoctrination. They’re quick to label people that are truly powerful as lunatics and they’re quick to dismiss their wrong doings as ‘conspiracy theory’.

  22. BuddhaQ · October 25, 2014

I AM a San Francisco LOVE witch….Blessing to ALL! Would also love this deck…lol.

  23. Cher Green · October 25, 2014

Wonderful post as always. I’d love to own this deck. Have a great Halloween.

  24. nicolovetro · October 25, 2014
