For this past weekend’s International Tarot Day blog hop, I had been assigned another queen – the Blue Queen, aka the Queen of Swords. I had the idea to write about the qualities of the Divine Feminine through her and now I feel called to do the same about this queen who is equally gifted but in quite a different way!
The Queen of Wands brings the gift of supreme self-confidence. She has the ability to inspire others to take risks as well. She is completely unafraid of being in the spotlight because she accepts herself completely…
Another quote that is a great fit for her:
Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.
― Lao Tzu
There is, as with all the queen, a shadow version of the Queen of Wands. This other Red Queen can be scary as hell. She is charismatic, for sure but she is also very much a psychic vampire, living off the adoration of her fans. Inside, she is completely empty. She is cut off from her soul and there is nothing about her that is authentic.
She has the men wrapped around her little finger because she knows every seduction tip in the book. Her artistry is often brilliant and she has her finger on the pulse enough to bang on trend but it is not original. Instead she compares herself to others and tries to do what they do… only better.
She stays awake at night worrying if she is good enough and better than so-and-so. Because she is so fragile and insecure, she engages in backstabbing and gossip about the competition.
It’s good to be aware of the Shadow Red Queen because to a certain extent, she is part of human nature. Projecting her on well-known divas simply won’t do. We need to own her for ourselves so that we can transmute her energy, hook ourselves up to Source and harness the following positive traits of the Divine Feminine reflected through this awesome Queen of Water and Fire:
- encourager of souls
- original creative
- bringer of joy
- natural leader
- independent and ambitious
- frank communicator
- warm and kind
Questions for self-reflection
Why did the Red Queen show up for you today? Which of her traits or qualities do you need to harness? Are you more worried about the competition than your connection to Source?
