“There are no words to express the abyss between isolation and having one ally. It may be conceded to the mathematician that four is twice two. But two is not twice one; two is two thousand times one.”
― G.K. Chesterton
As I was shuffling the cards for today’s draw, I was thinking about how it would almost be weird if I pulled a card without a dog in it. Since I got our JackShit Nimmy last year and our Jack Russel Gilly just over a month ago, I have come to realise – much like the Fool – that the best ally for the journey is indeed a dog.
Again, the cards did not disappoint. As you can clearly see, Spirit recognises both my dogs – one light and one dark 🙂
It is really rather remarkable that we are on day eight and so far a whopping SEVEN out of eight have been Majors, with today giving us a repeat of the card for Day 2 of the Hero’s Journey challenge, i.e. The Moon.
The stunningly beautiful Moon card from the Tarot Decoratif emphasises the connection between Luna and Mother Mary and this is one of the things I love most about this card. Mother Mary can perhaps also be considered an ally. And maybe the Lady’s Mantle I noticed growing on the path outside our house this morning is a sign that it is indeed so…
Lady’s Mantle is a plant that has been associated with Mother Mary, as well as with alchemy, for hundreds of years. It is also associated with the Fae. I feel very supported indeed!
